ARPwave Therapy: What To Expect

Instructions From Dr. Darr

ARP Therapy consists of 11 treatment sessions. Patients should plan for the following:

  • Wear comfortable, gym-style clothing to allow movement. Clinical staff will place and reposition electrodes to identify and treat areas known as “hot spots.”
  • You will be asked to rate the intensity of electrical stimulation throughout treatment to help identify problem areas. The sensation can be intense but is tolerable for most patients.

Recovery Recommendations

Because ARPwave sessions are physically demanding, proper recovery is essential. Patients are advised to:

  • Get adequate rest, including at least 8 hours of sleep per night
  • Avoid or limit alcohol consumption
  • Eat healthy meals with adequate protein intake
  • Increase protein intake during treatment if recommended based on individual needs

Outcome Tracking And Follow-Up

Patients will complete questionnaires regarding symptoms and functional concerns at the following intervals:

  • Before beginning therapy
  • At the completion of therapy
  • During selected follow-up visits

Dr. Darr and the clinical team will also assess various clinical measures to evaluate treatment response and outcomes. At Covington Orthopedic and Sports Medicine, we recognize that ARPwave Therapy is not appropriate for every patient. Dr. Kevin Darr offers a comprehensive range of treatment options to ensure each patient receives the most appropriate care. Patients interested in pain relief or ARPwave Therapy are encouraged to schedule a consultation at either the Covington or Metairie clinic.

Results Of Treatment

Dr. Darr monitors treatment outcomes through multiple assessment methods. Patients are asked to keep notes throughout the 11-day treatment program using the provided record and bring it to each session.
